Syn- 3
One morning in the autumn term at a school. Shane who is in his late teens is walking into school, keeping himself to himself and not interacting with other students or staff. As he continues down the corridors, he occasionally looks around him to see what is happening. Students around are talking and laughing in small groups, no one is noticing Shane. As Shane walks through the doors at the end of the corridor he glazes around at the people around and notices a small year 7 boy being bullied by older boys on the piazza. Hidden by some shrubbery; Shane freezes as he hears threats by the older boys; he continues to listen as more violent treats are overwhelming his hearing. Standing aside from the action he watches in distress focusing mainly on the group of boys. He slowly edges forward towards the bullies muffling the words ‘stop… please …stop’ he gradually becomes louder, in which draws the attention of the boys. They only notice Shane approaching as the younger boy backs offs into the distance. The group start walking towards Shane shouting ‘oi… what you looking at’ Shane response saying ‘what did the year 7 do to be deserved to be bullied’. The boys move closer to Shane, other students begin to gather around the argument to watch. The group of boys are now really close to Shane who asks them again to stop bulling someone who is younger then them, they refuse. They are face to face within inches of Shane they shout at him to move out of the way. Shane stands his ground. The boys start pushing him whilst shouting at him to move. Shane turns as if to walk away… a moment pause and then he turns back and hits the leader of the group. Everyone around looks on in shock, whilst Shane stands there and looks at the boy on the ground and then up to the younger year 7 boy.
